Adding to the list of "crap I can't do"

Get in in-depth discussion with guys. Unless we’re arguing, it just doesn’t get that deep. I lose interest incredibly fast. Common sense says it’s hormones/sexual attraction that allows me to stay interested in a conversation with a girl for hours on end, but I prefer to think my subconscious is just sexist against guys.
I think the only thing that keeps us all sane most of the time is we are gifted with the ability to somehow temporarily forget how screwed up our situations are and just be happy.

That feeling
Talking to someone new, then realizing I’m not nervous, I’m not shaking, I’m not cold. In mere moments I have gained with one person what I have yet to gain with people I’ve known for years…. comfort.
I have made a friend, a real one.
Mulligan
We all strive for that second chance. It’s appealing to us, the idea of being able to screw up then move on as if nothing happened. Sometimes we like starting all over again simply to escape a rut. What do you do when you get bored of a game? You make a new character, replay on a harder difficulty, etc etc. You don’t stop playing the game, you just change it up a little. I think...

On a random note
I find it funny Gilbert Gottfried or whatever his name is got fired by Aflack (he was the duck voice). Long story short, he said some stupid things about the Japan situation and since Aflack is MAJORLY involved in Japanese affairs, they dropped him like a sack of potatoes. I really never liked that guy to begin with, so it’s good by me.
So now the duck needs a voice, and they’re...
Not dead yet
I haven’t posted in a good while but that doesn’t mean you’re rid of me yet. I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus and I won’t go into much detail beyond that. It’s funny, not much has changed in my absence:
- I’ve lost a small chunk of followers. Nothing big, around 30.
- My “Castles Made of Sand” post has been liked/reblogged another 800 million...

They call people like me nightowls
The ones that are up all night and sleep all day, not to be confused with out all night and sleep all day, which is far more exciting.
I am not a people person.
I’m also not a morning person, but that can usually be remedied with large amounts of caffeine.
Just as soon as I belong, then it’s time I disappear.

What do you do when you disappear without notice for nearly a year then magically come back with no explanation? I don’t suppose “woops” covers this does it?

Identity
This wonderful little piece of poetry was crafted by a friend of mine. I hope you find it as entertaining as I do.
In a world of undercover agents, fighting villains with brawn and mind; There was a certain genius whom I’ll call Tom for the sake of a future rhyme. He was a deep thinking analyst, who was acclaimed for his skill, In figuring out the plan before his unfortunate enemy could kill....

Ancient Repost: Smooth Sailing
This is something only my oldest followers might remember. It’s my favorite story of any I’ve ever written. The inspiration for it came when I was talking to a friend and said the phrase, “Smooth sailing, forever smooth sailing.” In the blink of an eye, it came to me. I went home, and wrote this:
Long long ago, there was once a man who had to make a seven day trip ...

Slumber
There was a boy who had a passion to write. He would sit for hours on end writing magnificent stories that came to his mind. There was never a barrier for his creativity. His mind had become a never-ending bounty of brilliance and eloquence.
One day he got up and looked in the mirror. He gazed into the reflection of his tired eyes and thought aloud, “I need to sleep.” So he went to...

+5000rep for the person who finds me the radio/single version of “Far From Home” by Five Finger Death Punch.
I’m serious. I’m totally confounded by the difficulty of finding THAT version. It has this melodic guitar playing instead of a string symphony (album version) and when I hear it, it just feels sound is making sweet love to my ears.
The vast majority of our life can be described as trying to find a solution for the problem the last solution created.

On a whim
I decided to check the directory to see what’s on the first page now and if I still hold any position on there. Well lo and behold, a glitch prevents me from seeing past the first selection of blogs. Clicking “show more” simply opens blank space on the webpage.

Some days you just have to say, "F*** it."
Want to know what I had for lunch today? Cheese fries, onion rings, and a deep-fried sandwich. Some days you just have to live a little, otherwise you’re just living a long life of inadequacy.
When we were young we knew everything. Only as we grew older did we become wise enough to be ignorant.
I find sound much more appealing than sight. To me, a good song is greater than any painting, a silent serenity greater than any vista, a soothing voice better than any face.
To be stubborn is expected.
To act as if you know everything is typical.
To have both qualities is to piss me off.
There’s never any going back, only twisting the future to make it look like the past.

Gandhi's 7 Deadly Sins

I’m not one to quote Gandhi much, but I found this list pretty interesting.

I’m already tired of kids.
Did I say I was on vacation? I meant my own personal hell where I’m hoping to not lose my sanity.
On vacation
Oddly enough, this might result in more posts from me, seeing as I’m actually doing something worth mentioning for once.
For now, the 12 hour drive wiped me out. I need sleep.

Have I ever told you this story?
A man was sick in the hospital. His friend comes to visit him and the nurse says, “He’s doing a bit better.”
The sick man heard this and responded, “On the contrary!” then died.
Think, think, think. It’s all we seem to do these days. We still don’t get it right half the time, but at least we’re putting up an effort.
I talk to myself too much.

For the past two nights
I’ve logged on to see, “Sorry, we’re performing some server maintenance” or something to that effect. It’s quite annoying. I can’t complain too much though; I only log on at like 3am, and if you were to do system maintenance, that’d be the time to do it. Scratch that. I now realized it lasted longer than just the night and no one was happy about it....

Semi-late happy Thanksgiving everyone
Right-on-time happy Black Friday everyone.
Want to know what I’m thankful for? For the first time in my family’s history, we had a normal Thanksgiving where everyone sat at a large table, was polite, and didn’t go insane on anyone else. We all sat around the table thinking, Ohmygodthereishopefortheworldafterall.

Bravo guys
That was entertaining. Gave me something to think about for a while, and I even thought of a little quote to shove in my imaginary book of self-quotes:
There are no heroes in a world where everyone only acts in self-interest.

I once had a person tell me they never showed their best or worst sides to anyone, saying they didn’t deserve to see them. I want you to think about that for a minute.
Ok, now I want to ask you something. If you don’t ever let anyone see you at your best or worst, do those sides of yourself even exist? As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the answer will always be no.
Just...
